Official confirmation of 'Twist on the beach record
Aug 11th 2002 -- It's official Burnham-on-sea has a World Record. on 11th August 2002, 1,150 people twisted away on the beach for five minutes beating the previous record of 1,055 in Florida.
The beach came alive as residents and holidaymakers braved the rain to raise £2000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Plans are already underway to break the record again with a bigger and better Twist on the beach in 2004.
